Our pharma client has an urgent need for a Statistician. The qualified candidate will be required to be a self-starter with demonstrated experience using SAS and SQL programming; as well as possess strong experience developing, implementing, and maintaining predictive statistical models using modeling techniques including logistic regression, survival analysis, neural networks, and decision trees. Excellent interpersonal skills, and professionalism; as well as the ability to communicate comfortably with all levels of staff and management are a must.
* Develop statistical models, segmentation schemes and data-driven analyses.
* Have the ability to build models from start-to-finish (i.e. pull the data, manipulate the data, build the model, and validate the model).
* Candidate will consult with clients to define program needs, consult on proper analytical methodologies, initiate and execute projects.
* Utilize data mining techniques and queries to gather business intelligence.
* Develop, implement, and maintain predictive statistical models using modeling techniques including logistic regression, survival analysis, linear regression, decision trees, neural networks, and decision trees.
* Create performance metrics and tracking processes to measure the effectiveness of the predictive modeling efforts.
* Coordinate access and transformation of internal data to support tests and statistical evaluation.
* Write and optimize SQL queries to access source data from Oracle, Teradata, and other systems, and provide SQL and SAS programming support to client team members;
* Work in a consultative manner with customers to gathering functional requirements, analyze database contents, work with multiple internal data management teams to understand data relationships, and develop the analytical processes for obtaining the requested information;
* Willing to take personal responsibility for identifying and solving issues
* Be able to work in a time-sensitive environment using strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
