To work as a member of a team dealing with all stages of issuing various parking permits.
To work as a member of a team and be responsible for all stages of the process of the issue of the various parking permits issued or administered as part of controlled parking policies.
To deal effectively and efficiently with personal, written and telephone applications for permits, offering such advice and guidance as may be required by potential permit holders, and accepting and receipting cash and credit card payments.
To take direct responsibility for individual permit applications and deal with all the necessary stages from initial vetting to permit issue, including the drafting of complex correspondence and reports as and when required.
To ensure the maintenance and accurate updating of manual and computer systems and records to maintain a high standard and systematic approach to the organisation of administrative procedures.
To be responsible for the control of stocks of material used by the team, including "controlled" stationery, and to ensure the security of such material at all times.
Responsible for the maintenance, updating & security of sensitive records & files for both manually and computerised systems and ensure that they are appropriately monitored and reviewed.
Responsible for the drafting of sensitive and complicated letters relating to both permits and disabled badge issues.
To gain and use a complete understanding of the controlled parking policies and the civil and criminal law relating to parking issues, and to transmit this information to interested parties, both orally and in writing.
To identify potential areas of abuse in respect of parking matters and to ensure that preventative systems are in place to prevent such abuse and avoid losses, (including possible liaison with other authorities and the Metropolitan Police).
To arrange, minute and participate in meetings with both internal and external bodies, and take such follow-up action as may be required.
Experience of working as a member of a team dealing with telephone calls and direct enquiries from members of the public in respect of parking matters, and to offer a high quality customer care service.
Experience of and the ability to use and maintain manual and computer systems, and the use of such systems to produce statistical data.
The ability to understand and implement a working knowledge of controlled parking policies and the criminal and civil law relating to all aspects of parking, and to accurately transmit such information verbally and in writing.
The ability to work to established procedures and deadlines, and to demonstrate an understanding of the need for deadlines.
The ability to identify abuses in respect of permit matters and to take preventative action.
The ability to arrange, participate in and minute meetings with internal and external participants and to demonstrate an understanding of the need for accurate feedback action.
The ability to work with other departmental and officers to promote and present a positive image for the team and its work.
The ability to accept and process payments for parking permits within the criteria for permits issue, and within Audit guidelines.
