A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Legal Support Assistant to join a very well-established legal firm based in Holborn.
Job purpose
To provide administrative support for a group of Fee Earners.
Principal accountabilities
· Opening new instructions
· Input of data onto case management system
· Document production through case management system
· Printing documents, preparing for signature and amending as necessary
· Collating enclosures to accompany documents prior to submission to fee earner for approval
· Time recording of all letters and documents within the case management system
· Undertake a range of chargeable activities on behalf of the team, including liaison between parties for diary co-ordination, chasing reports and statements, arranging meetings etc
· Dealing with telephone queries whether internal or external, ensuring all calls are returned by 4pm the same day
· Checking emails and voicemail messages for fee earners who are out of office, ensuring attendance notes of all messages are typed and recorded through the case management system, with telephone calls returned by 4pm the same day
· Preparation of bills
· Audio and copy typing for fee earners to meet immediate deadlines ie within 2 hours
· Filing of all correspondence, documents and files
· Dealing with administrative duties for fee earners
· Photocopying, archiving, collecting mail for fee earners
· Arranging courier collections/deliveries
· Other duties as required by manager/team leader/Partners.
Knowledge
· Typing speed of 65 wpm
· Audio experience (desirable)
· Experience of Personal Injury and/or litigation
· Able to use functions in VisualFiles to create, edit, format and print complex documents.
· Able to communicate confidently via email, manage an electronic diary and use of the internet for sources of business information
· Able to use functions in Word and Excel to create, edit, format and print complex documents
