The main purpose of the role is to provide financial support and analysis and be the primary point of contact on business finance issues. The role also includes providing support to the UK Finance Lead for overall UK reporting and analysis of central and EU costs. The role will also be responsible for owning and driving UK utilisation and will be actively involve in key local initiatives as they arise.
You will be of a graduate calibre with good degree (at least 2.2) and school qualifications and be qualified in a large/medium size organisation with a good grounding in general finance.
Some specific tasks include:
• Analysis and understanding of performance & results including the UK and International.
• Ad hoc analysis to understand key variances
• Working with the key contacts ownership & co-ordination of the annual plan and reforecasts including managing to deadlines, cognos model support, understanding key risks and opportunities inherent in plans and key plan assumptions.
• Continuous improvement of planning process.
• Ongoing report development.
• Month end review of results, ensuring results are delivered to time and of a high standard. Appropriate escalation of issues.
• Review and analysis of key business metrics (WIP etc) and facilitate the understanding and awareness within the business.
• Communication of finance issues to the business and building up awareness within the practice.
• Working closely with the UK finance lead, production of overall UK monthly reporting packs and ad hoc business review information as required.
• Review & production of journals.
• Ad hoc UK specific projects as required by business needs
Essentially, you will have advanced Excel skills, the ability to create efficient analysis and turn data into actionable information for the business, strong overview knowledge of key finance processes (general accounting, AR, AP, planning & forecasting), and a clear focus on the bigger commercial picture. Knowledge of Cognos or other Reporting tools is an advantage.
