Our client is an independent not for profit organisation working to illustrate for everyone the importance of the sea, ships, time and the stars and their relationship with people. They are looking to recruit an HR Manager on a 6 month contract to provide a proactive generalist HR service in an efficient and cost effective way. The main responsibilities include:

•Implementing recruitment strategy and making recommendations on improvements
•Conducting first and second stage interviews and provide feedback to the candidates
•Providing advice and training to managers and employees
•Assisting in the completion of the annual update of the employment handbook
•Being responsible for absence management and make referrals to Occupational Health
•Preparing responses to any Tribunal Claims
•Monitoring all HR budgets in collaboration with the HR and Payroll Team
•Conducting regular team meetings

The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified or equivalent with significant experience in a similar role. Up to date knowledge of employment law is required along with previous line management experience. You will have strong written skills along with a proven ability to negotiate with external and internal clients. You will be a conscientious and self motivated person with excellent organisational and communication skills.
