Our client one of the City’s top Investment Management Company’s has an unparalleled track record of innovative and market leading product development; index tracking, pioneering advanced active management, a key player in the development of the securities lending industry within asset managers and led the development of life-styling products for defined contribution pension schemes. More recently they have led the development of liability driven investing, the growth of institutional hedge fund investing and the rapid growth of the exchange traded fund products.
Their Investment Management Support Team was created at the beginning of 2007. It form’s part of the Company’s European Investment Operations, who provide in-house operational functions for the entire European business together, increasingly, with supporting investment processes for Global Products.
The Team is responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Investment Book of Records (IBOR). IBOR is the primary record of investment that supports the portfolio management process. Although much of the work of the team is centred around the reconciliation process, IMS view this very much as the avenue in to other areas of the business. IMS place greater emphasis on understanding how the business works and the impact of its work, processes and decisions on the rest of the business. IMS play a very active part in ensuring that the Company has robust operating models to support new clients, funds, instruments, products etc.
Since its’ formation, the breadth and depth of the work IMS are involved in has increased to grow at a rapid pace. This has resulted in the team becoming far more familiar with complex products/instruments and operating models.
IMS is currently looking for a Manager to help drive the team towards meeting its’ challenges. As well as possessing excellent staff management skills, the individual must be able to represent the team across the rest of the business. The individual must be enthusiastic, committed, driven and professional in nature. This is a role which will interact across the whole of the Company at a variety of different levels. Responsible for;
• Effectively manage the team in the execution of the day to day activities
• Lead the team in challenging existing processes/procedures
• Actively manage a team in terms of development, training, bi-annual reviews/appraisals etc.
• Work with the Head of IMS to look develop the strategy of the team
• Work with other business areas within the Company to improve and develop the service IMS provide

All report through to Head of Investment Management Support
Team ultimately report through to Head of Investment Operations
Essential
• Excellent staff management skills
• Knowledge of the Fund Management industry
• Knowledge of investment process
• Knowledge of workings of custodians, third party administrators, TA’s etc.
• Experience of leading specific tasks/works channels
• Experience at running meetings, workshops etc.
