Position Description:
The role of the Account Manager is to effectively support the Senior Portfolio Management team and Investment Policy Group in the translation of portfolio strategy across client accounts. On a day to day basis this means the Account Manager is responsible for initiating equity and currency trades based on the guidance from the research teams, model portfolio targets and account management guidelines. Account Managers are responsible for ensuring that the portfolio strategy is applied to individual client accounts and are encouraged, based on the target portfolio and client holdings to suggest potential trades with the Director of Research. Account Managers are given responsibility for the day to day management of accounts ensuring the clients account is run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Implementation of investment decisions for individual equity value accounts.
Monitoring of equity, currency (including hedged positions), stock index futures and cash positions in the accounts.
Reviewing and approving of client guidelines, implementing client requests, and reacting to cash-flows in the accounts.
Liaise with other departments internally, especially the separate investment discipline teams, Senior Portfolio Managers, Legal/Compliance, Sales/Marketing, and Investment Operations.
Frequent interaction with Senior Portfolio Managers, Traders, Global Analysts, and the Sales departments is necessary.
Using various quantitative portfolio management tools, including portfolio optimization techniques.
Cash Management and client queries.
Skills and Experience:
Relevant industry-related experience
Graduate ( a 1st or 2:1 minimum finance based degree)
Strong analytical and numeric ability
Excellent communication skills
Detail orientated
Candidates will have to demonstrate they can prioritise and work well under pressure
Proven problem solving skills is essential
