SENIOR ANALYST, PRODUCT MANAGEMENT (ETFS), GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
Our client is looking for a driven team player to join their ETF Product Management team. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure internal and external monitoring programmes are executed, whether by managing the process and coordinating the various parties or ensuring that the provider delivers the service to meet the agreed standards of delivery and will also provide overflow support to both the Primary and Secondary market activities.
The hours for this role will be 8am till 4pm (ideally 7am to 3pm) due to the nature of the information exchange from Global offices.
Ensure the outsourced providers monitoring programme is executed and that the provider delivers the service to meet the agreed standards of delivery, ensure all deadlines are met and ensure the internal monitoring programme is executed, managing the process and coordinating the various parties to ensure that Primary and Secondary market activities adhere to procedures and controls.
an expert in exchange traded funds (ETFs) and understand the full end-to-end processes and all requirements for ETFs.
Ensure all regulatory, statutory and internal reporting obligations are met for the funds.
Oversee the coordination of inputs/resources across the Company and outsourced providers required to achieve this.
Maintain data and collate information/reports on the results of the monitoring programme for senior management.
Validate third party MIS data to ensure consistency
Prepare reports to Fund Boards/Management Committees.
Carry out continual development of monitoring and other processes to optimise efficiency, mitigate risk and incorporate business and product changes. Ensure that the procedures are maintained in line with all current practises.
Review quality of providers procedures by review of outputs and walk through tests during visits.
Proactively build/maintain working relationships with providers and other areas within the organisation, liaising closely to ensure that the service is delivered and that any queries/problems/issues are dealt with in accordance with agreed standards.
Ensure providers monitor and resolve stock and cash breaks with the Company.
Be an escalation point for any queries not resolved in a timely manner.
Ensure fund accounting errors are recorded and escalated to management where necessary.
Provide technical accounting expertise to the business and the providers and act as a key contact point for complex problems and technical issues and as a point of escalation for more junior members of the team.
Provide technical expertise to the ETF product development and the providers for the launch of new products where required.
Keep abreast of product, business and regulatory changes and develop and maintain a good understanding of the fund accounting processes completed by the provider. Using this knowledge, act as the key liaison between the business and the service providers in coordinating resources and delivering strategic and other change initiatives at all stages of the process from initiation to implementation.
As required, take responsibility for and be proactive in ensuring that the Analyst activities, are executed in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with agreed standards.
Allocate, oversee and control the work of the Analyst and take responsibility for ensuring that an adequate and appropriate system of internal control is in place and operational and that all issues identified in the team are resolved satisfactorily.
Keep the Manager, ETFs PSM and all relevant parties fully appraised of all matters of risk to the Company.
Establish appropriate KPIs and management information within the monitoring team and ensure that this is actively used in the management of the team and that regular reports are provided to management.
Proactive involvement with peer group to develop knowledge and understanding across the area for Europe
Experience
Significant experience in a fund accounting environment at a fund management company or outsource provider
Experience of mutual funds is essential
Team Management Skills would be a distinct advantage
Has an understanding of the end to end business processes within a fund management company, in particular where an outsourced model is employed.
Demonstrate an in-depth technical knowledge of a given fund ranges and of relevant investment instruments and products
Experience of ETFs is advantageous
Knowledge of a broad range of fund accounting activities and a good understanding of the relevant regulatory environment
Able to demonstrate a risk focus and understanding of the risk inherent in the business and the use of controls to mitigate such risks
Demonstrate strong customer/provider focus and the ability to build strong working relationships with others (internal and 3rd parties) to achieve objectives Ability to identify problems/issues, analyse the root causes and work with others to resolve them
Ability to take overall responsibility for the delivery of own work and the work of Analysts, to the highest standards of quality and timeliness
Be flexible in approach and set an example in encouraging others to deal positively with change
Advanced Excel skills are essential
