Independent, market-leading wireless communications business, specialising in voice and data solutions, two-way radio equipment and systems, seek a Senior Radio Communications Field Engineer to share the responsibility for global field support.
Ideally the suitable candidate for the Senior Radio Communications Field Engineer role will have working experience of field servicing in the two-way radio communications industry, particularly hand-held devices, be a self starter, good communicator and well organised.
The Senior Radio Communications Field Engineer’s responsibilities will include:
* Installation, maintenance and fault finding of VHF and UHF base stations, repeaters and hand held radio including related ancillary equipment
* Installation and testing of antenna systems
* Conducting propagation surveys and producing related documentation in a professional manner
* Programming and aligning equipment from an out of box situation
* Vehicle installations
Ideal candidates for the Senior Radio Communications Field Engineer will be experienced hands on engineers, educated to HNC/HND level (or equivalent) with good radio communications problem solving skills, an understanding of frequency management and the ability to program and align equipment from an out of box situation, with experience of vehicle installations and the ability to use radio communications test sets to an advanced level. Experience in installation, maintenance and fault finding of VHF and UHF base stations, repeaters, hand held radio and antenna systems including related ancillary equipment, propagation surveys and vehicle installations is also required. Product knowledge of Motorola, Tetra, Digital, MPT1327 equipment would be advantageous.
A high degree of travel is expected with this role, requiring periods away from home (as well as some UK based work) globally (bar the US). Candidates need to be comfortable with this level of field support and possess a driving licence as well as being able to obtain or already having security clearance.
