Our client is one of the Worlds largest Fund Managers with offices Globally of c3000+ employees. They currently manage nearly 1.5 trillion for institutional and private clients around the world.
Currently they manage an extensive range of institutional pooled products and segregated mandates including onshore life funds, and a range of Dublin and Cayman domiciled funds, hedge funds and fund-of-hedge funds. These funds are administered by a number of different onshore and Dublin based administrators. Monitoring and managing the services and support provided by these administrators to ensure that agreed operational performance levels are met and their clients are promptly and accurately serviced is an important aspect of their overall operating and service delivery model.
The Role:
This role sits within the European Provider Management Team who are responsible for managing the range of outsourced services provided by their strategic service providers services include custody, derivatives servicing, fund accounting, and transfer agency and ensuring they meet the requirements of business stakeholders; overseeing the procedures in place between the Company and its providers; and co-ordinating the change agenda between business units and these providers.
This Service Manager role will take overall responsibility for the management of their leading European strategic supplier for the full range of services provided across all client and fund ranges. This includes onshore and offshore funds and segregated mandates; and trustee, administration, management company support, custody, derivatives, transfer agency and client reporting services delivered from multiple locations in the UK and Ireland. There will also be a requirement to ensure that the service model is developed and deployed on a global basis as the global operating model and supplier strategy evolves.
It is expected that the successful candidate will over time assume the leadership responsibility for the Service Manager team. This will involve taking the direct report of two or three dedicated service managers and the indirect report of three product managers.
Candidates will have gained institutional/wholesale fund servicing experience from a global asset manager or from an offshore funds administrator, or both.
This role requires proven capabilities in influencing and managing multiple stakeholders within a global asset management business and across its service providers organisation; together with a broad knowledge of asset management and operational outsourcing.
This is a senior role and is key in managing the overall quality of the service delivered as well as driving the future direction of that service with the provider.
The role reports directly to the European Head of Provider Management. The European Provider Management group consists of a number of specialist teams and Supplier Managers and has a total headcount of 26 staff.
Responsibilities:
Manage the overall relationship with European main third party service provider for all custodial, funds administration and outsourcing activities to optimise quality of service and maximise value to the Company.
Manage relationships with senior stakeholders within business groups to ensure their servicing and change requirements are understood, appropriately prioritised and communicated to the service provider.
Represent and coordinate the team responsible for the ongoing day-to-day management and monitoring of each set of services delivered by their leading service provider
Contribute to the successful development and deployment of a global service model ensuring their increasingly complex fund structures and investment strategies are competently serviced.
Essential Required Skills / Experience
Experience of working in a large asset management firm together with Institutional/wholesale funds experience
Experience of working in a similar oversight function in another asset manager
Knowledge and understanding of onshore and offshore regulatory environments specifically Dublin.
Significant funds administration and/or transfer agency experience in a management position
Exposure to and experience of supporting offshore funds domiciled in Dublin and Cayman
Proven track recording in building and managing high performing operational processes
Experience of operating in a customer focussed relationship management role
Proven ability to manage projects through to implementation
Experience of operating model design and the use of outsourced solutions
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external parties
Self starter capable of defining and managing their own work timetable
Develop practical and pragmatic solutions through a hands on approach
Ability to justify and defend proposed approaches
Good written and verbal communication skills
